  Located about 42 kilometers southwest of Beijing, the Zhoukoudian cave system has been on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 1987. With a history stretching back approximately 750,000 to 200,000 years, it holds critical importance for understanding early human evolution. Important fossils were unearthed during excavations in the region in the 1920s and 1930s. The name "Peking Man" given to these remains does not stem from a historical figure, but entirely from its geographical location.   One of the most exhausting shifts of the human soul is the rehearsal of the future. Instead of trusting the flow of life, we spend days and nights replaying catastrophe scenarios in our minds scenarios that have not happened yet, and perhaps never will.
